By every measure, we're making great progress on the Langley Library's remodel project.
The latest updates:
- Interior painting is done, along with carpet and light fixture installation.
- The clerestory windows on the roof are installed, which increases natural light.
- The folding glass door for the flexible meeting room is installed.
- Stairs to the lower level are complete.
- Window framing and study spaces on the lower level are in progress.
- The accessibility ramp has been widened.
- Framing for the exterior steps and sidewalk has started.
We are on schedule to complete the project in four months. There is still a lot of work to be done, and a grand opening date will be announced in January. During construction, library services are available at the South Whidbey Community Center, rooms 114 & 115.
Sno-Isle Libraries is collaborating with the City of Langley to revitalize the 3,600-square-foot Langley Library to improve accessibility and energy efficiency while preserving the historic nature of the building.
