From cozy reading nooks to lush gardens, explore the future Lake Stevens Library’s updated designs. Dec. 6 marked a milestone for Lake Stevens as the community gathered to see designs for the future library. The updated designs, based on community input, showcase the indoor charm and outdoor splendor of the future Lake Stevens Library, to be built in the Chapel Hill neighborhood.
Indoor Spaces: A World of Imagination
Families will be delighted with the large, interactive, and engaging children’s area, designed to ignite the imagination of young readers.
With a variety of flexible public meeting and gathering spaces, the library will bring together our community for activities, workshops, and events.
Outdoor Spaces: A Blend of Nature and Community
Another exciting feature of the design is the outdoor gathering spaces. These areas were thoughtfully planned to protect and enhance the wetland areas while offering a serene backdrop for community events and cozy reading. Features like interactive learning trails will provide an opportunity to learn about the ecosystem and our lake watershed.
The overall design incorporates the natural landscape and reflects the City's unique character and history.
The Journey Ahead
With insights from community members, library staff, and key partners, we're now shifting our focus from design development to the finer details such as finishes, furniture, and interior design elements.
Sno-Isle Libraries has submitted the Land Use Development Application to the City of Lake Stevens. This marks the beginning of the permitting process, paving the way for the next phase of developing construction documents. Construction is slated to begin in 2024.
