Lake Stevens Library

A new library in the Chapel Hill neighborhood will better serve the growing community.

Current phase: Bidding & Contracting

Latest news:
Faber Construction was identified as the lowest responsive bidder and contracting is underway.
★ Design adjustments are being made for finishes and furniture.
★ Groundbreaking happened on Sept. 18!
★ The City of Lake Stevens has approved the building permit.

Langley Library

Remodel of interior and exterior spaces to improve accessibility and energy efficiency while preserving the historic building.

Current phase: Construction

Latest news:
★  Drywall installation and painting are complete, interior finishes and fixtures are underway.
★  Solar panels have been installed.
★  Accessibility improvements to the ramp and entryway are in progress.
★  New windows are next.
★  On track to receive LEED Silver Certification.
★  Temporary library is at South Whidbey Community Center in rooms 114 &115.

★ The Library District has taken possession of the new property and will ensure it is secure and maintained.

★ Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026.
