Printing can be submitted from any web-connected device through our Remote Printing Portal. After submitting a print job visit any library to print it yourself at a print release station. You may also choose contact-free pickup. See How to Retrieve Your Print Job for detailed instructions for each option.

You will receive $7.00 printing credit on your library card each week. Print jobs exceeding your weekly credit cannot be printed using the contact-free method, but funds may be added at print stations for larger print jobs.

Remote Printing Portal

How to Submit a Print Job

Visit the library’s Remote Printing Portal. You will be prompted to enter your library card number and PIN at this point. Choose Web Print from the left menu.

Note: If on mobile, tap View in Desktop Mode from the bottom of the summary.

Select the Submit a Job button.
Select either black and white or color and size of paper you would like to print.
Select the Print Options and Account Selection button.
Enter the number of copies you need and select the Upload Documents button.
Upload files by dragging them into the highlighted box or browse files by selecting Upload from Computer.

Note: When you have finished uploading files, select the Upload and Complete. You will see a list of jobs pending release. They will say Held in Queue under status. Remote printing requests are retained until customers retrieve their printouts or 72 hours, whichever comes first.

How to Retrieve Your Print Job

To print yourself, visit any library during open hours. At the print station, enter your library card number and PIN, then select the job or jobs you would like to print. Remote printing requests are retained until customers retrieve their printouts or 72 hours, whichever comes first.
To have the Library print the job for contact-free pickup, select the Notify Library button. A form will open. Select a library, enter your library card number, and submit. Please allow at least 2 business hours for documents to be printed and available for pickup.

Print Costs

Each week, you will receive $7.00 printing credit with your library card. This credit can be used for any of Sno-Isle’s print-related services, including black and white or color printing. Print allowances do not carry over.

For print jobs that exceed your remaining weekly credit, you may add funds at an in-building print station. Cash or credit is accepted.

8.5 x 11 inches (standard paper size) black & white: $0.10 per page
8.5 x 11 inches (standard paper size) color: $0.50 per page
8.5 x 14 inches (legal paper size) black & white: $0.10 per page
8.5 x 14 inches (legal paper size) color: $0.50 per page
11 x 17 inches (ledger paper size) black & white: $0.20 per page
11 x 17 inches (ledger paper size) color: $1.00 per page

When you choose to print in color, the printer will automatically detect which pages in a job are in color and which are not, and charge accordingly.

For example, if you print a ten-page document that contains one page in color, the printer will charge you $1.40 for the job: $0.50 for the one color page and $0.10 for each of the remaining black & white pages.

You may still choose to print your job entirely in black & white. The color page would print in black & white, and you would be charged the black & white rate for the entire job.

At the Library

Desktop Computers

Desktop computers are available for use at all libraries except Mariner Library.

Laptops

Laptops for on-site use will only work when connected to Sno-Isle Wi-Fi on library premises.

Service details

If a laptop is available, it will be checked out for you using your library card number.
Laptops can be checked out for up to two hours and cannot be placed on hold.
Log on to the laptop using your library card number and PIN/password.
You may extend your time with the laptop if another laptop is available for someone else to use.
Printing is available using the $7 weekly printing credit and is added to the print queue. You can release your print job in the library or by calling the contact-free services number at your local library and telling staff you have a print job waiting.

Wi-Fi

The name of the Wi-Fi network at all libraries is sno-isle public. There is no password required and a library card is not required for access. Wi-Fi access at all libraries extends throughout the library and to the library parking lot.

Customers can use their own digital devices to access the Internet in community libraries throughout the Library District. Public Wi-Fi is not routed through the Library District's computer system, is not filtered, and is not secure. See Sno-Isle Libraries Internet Use Policy for more information.

Wi-Fi is available 24/7 at most locations. Some locations have limited Wi-Fi hours:

To Go

Chromebooks, Laptops, and Wi-Fi Hotspots

You can place a hold on a Chromebook and hotspot kit, laptop and hotspot kit, or Wi-Fi hotspot with your library card. You will receive a notification when the item is ready for pickup. Checkout is for 3 weeks (21 days).

Service details

Chromebook and hotspot kits, laptop and hotspot kits, and Wi-Fi hotspots must be checked out to the same library card used to place the hold.
Only one device or kit may be checked out to a card at a time. If there are multiple holds placed, only one will be fulfilled and all other holds canceled.
You may renew devices up to five times if there are no holds.
Tampering with the devices is prohibited. Customers who alter the device by reformatting, resetting, removing parts, or otherwise modifying from its original configuration will not be allowed to check out equipment in the future.
Chromebook and hotspot kits, laptop and hotspot kits, and Wi-Fi hotspots come with a carrying cases, cords, and instructions.
To access the internet, Chromebooks and laptops need a Wi-Fi connection. On laptops, applications that do not require the internet will work without a Wi-Fi connection.
Wi-Fi hotspots use a mobile signal to connect to the internet. Mobile signals vary by location.
Chromebooks and laptops have internet filtering enabled for all users that, to the extent technically possible, prevents access to visual depictions that are obscene, child pornography, and visual depictions that are harmful to minors. Printing is available using the $7 weekly printing credit by uploading print jobs to the remote print system. You can release your print job in the library or by using the remote print system to notify the library where you would like to pick up your print job.

Eligibility

A valid library card is required to check out a Chromebook, laptop, or Wi-Fi hotspot. Online library cards beginning with PACREG are not eligible for checking out Chromebooks, laptops, or Wi-Fi hotspots.

In keeping with Sno-Isle Libraries' commitments to privacy and intellectual freedom, we do not monitor or track customer internet use on library devices. However, we cannot prevent customers' online activity from being tracked by third parties whose internet services they interact with while online. Customers are strongly advised to exercise appropriate caution when accessing the internet on library resources, both in the library and at home.

Why do Chromebooks have a warning message about user activity?

The warning message about sno-isle.org having “access to all user activity, including websites visited, passwords, and email” that appears during the Guest login process is generated automatically by Google’s Chromebook configuration policy, triggered by our internet filtering software. Sno-Isle Libraries does not monitor user activity.
Chromebooks to Go only keep user information while the user is logged in as Guest. The Guest session will remain active until the user intentionally logs out.

Laptops to Go delete personal information when a user logs out, restarts, or shuts the laptop completely off. Putting the laptop into sleep or standby mode will NOT erase personal information.

To ensure that all personal information is properly erased, customers are strongly advised to either sign out as Guest or shut the laptop down completely from the Windows start menu before returning it to the library.
Chromebooks to Go come with Chrome for easy access to the web and are designed to be used with web-based apps rather than locally installed apps like a traditional Windows PC. Chrome tabs open up to a special landing page with links to library resources, common productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Online and Google Docs, and popular entertainment sites.

Copying and scanning are available at all locations. Your weekly $7 printing credit can also be used to pay for copies.

Faxing is currently available at the Darrington Library, Freeland Library, and Marysville Library.

If paying by credit or debit card there is a recommended maximum of 20 pages per fax. If paying by cash (prepaid fax card), there is a maximum of 18 pages per fax to the US, Canada, & Caribbean and 3 pages to other international destinations.

To print from a Laptop or Chromebook to Go, log in to our Remote Printing Portal with your library card to upload files for printing.
