The library is here to help you support your child as they learn to read. Our Readers Collection contains books that are designed to assist children in learning to read on their own, including decodable books.
Decodable books are learning tools for emergent readers that focus on phonics. They encourage readers to sound out words and practice letter-sound relationships. The books are often meant to be read sequentially and build on the reader’s knowledge.
Some examples of decodable books in our collection are the Bob Books and the newly added series named The Decodables.
If you’re looking for decodable books, you can search the catalog using the search term “Decodable readers” and filtering by Format: Book and Audience: Children. You can select on one of the titles, scroll to About, and select Full Details. Scroll down to Series and you can see the set name and book number. Once you know the set you are interested in, you can search the catalog using the set name.
