Reading is Magic

“At the core though…magic is taking a thought and making it real. Taking a lie and making it the truth. Telling a story to the universe so utterly, cosmetically perfect that for a single, shining moment…the world believes a man can fly.” ~Loki, Agent of Asgard Vol. 1

This quote could easily be describing the fantasy genre. Fantasy authors craft captivating stories that allow us to leave our world behind and venture into ones filled with flying men, dragons, and talking animals. The genre is diverse, from cozy stories to epic battles of good and evil. Some books construct entirely new worlds or let magic seep into our own. Fantasy is as much about escapism as it is about exploring humanity--our imagination, our determination, and our compassion.
