Whether you are a veteran educator or just getting started on your teaching career, you’re aware that teachers, like their students, are constantly learning.
LinkedIn Learning, formerly Lynda.com, is a great way to keep up with new technologies and new teaching techniques. All you need is a Sno-Isle Libraries card to access this powerful resource for free!
LinkedIn Learning has a section devoted to K-12 educators, featuring courses on everything from crafting a syllabus, teaching complex topics, preparing students for the future, teaching visual thinking, gamification and using technology to help students succeed.
One of the advantages of LinkedIn Learning is you can go at your own pace and all classes have a transcript and the ability to jump around to the sections most relevant to your classroom needs. You can also search by topic, presenter and duration of the lesson.
Once you are logged in, go to the Browse menu at the top of the page and scroll to Training and Education. Under that heading you’ll find several categories, including K-12 Education, Instructional Design and more. You can also search specific terms, such as Excel or TikTok.
Select the course that works for you and start learning.
