The Hotel Bishop at First Street and Anthes Avenue in Langley was built in 1901 and burned to the ground on April 4, 1921. Buildings across the street were damaged but saved by a bucket brigade of local citizens. Only the little pergola on the right was undamaged. This photograph shows the hotel engulfed in flames.
In this 1911 photo of Langley, you can see what may be this same hotel in the lower left.
