English Language Learning Classes

There are many classes available in our community for those who want to learn English.

  • Edmonds College – Offers ELA (English Language Acquisition Classes) for adult learners at a variety of levels from beginning literacy to advanced.  Classes are offered online or in a hybrid format.  Testing and an advising orientation are required before you enroll in a class.  Tuition is $25 per quarter.  Financial assistance is available, inquire with your advisor to learn more.
  • Everett Community College – Offers ESL/ELA online and in-person classes during the day and in the evening. Prospective students must fill out on an online application, provide a writing sample, and complete an advising appointment before registering. Tuition is $25 per quarter.
  • Skagit Valley College – Offers in-person ELA classes for adults.  Students must apply online and schedule an appointment to register. Tuition is $25 per quarter.
  • Literacy Source – Offers free ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Classes and one-to-one tutoring at variety of levels.  Prospective students must be 18 years or older and plan to reside in the United States permanently.  Their priority is to serve low-income immigrants and refugees.  Pre-registration over the phone is required.Please call 206-782-2050.
  • Shoreline Community College – Shoreline’s English as a Second Language program offers eight levels of classes for non-native English speakers living in Washington state. Classes cost $25 per quarter.  Registration is online.
  • Bethany Compassion Center – Offers beginner ESL classes for adults to learn conversational English. Classes are free and open to all adults. Register online.
  • Babbel – online language learning product, offers free language courses in English to those who speak Ukrainian. Create a Babbel account, set learning language to English and set display language to Ukrainian.
  • USA Learns – U.S. government website offering free English classes from beginning to intermediate. Registration recommended so you may save your work; does require an email. Available both on the Web or as an App.
