Alternate parking for Langley Library

Originally published Jan. 21, 2014

The Langley Library will be open regular hours during the City’s construction project expecting to last until June. While the Langley Second Street project is underway, parking is not allowed on Second Street. Alternate library parking is available at the Island Church of Whidbey at Cascade and Sixth.

There will be at least one lane of traffic allowed on Second Street at all times, and access to businesses will remain open. Anthes and Cascade, the roads leading to Second, are expected to remain open.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but remember that the Langley Library will still be open regular hours. Please drive carefully. And, walk carefully on the temporary gravel paths as new sidewalks are being constructed on the north side of the street.

For information on the Langley Second Street project, contact Jeff Arango at the City of Langley, jarango@langleywa.org, 360-221-4246 ext. 26. For information on the Langley Library, contact Vicky Welfare, vwelfare@sno-isle.org, 360-221-4383.

It had been startling and disappointing to me to find out that story books had been written by people,
that books were not natural wonders, coming up of themselves like grass.
