Sno-Isle Libraries will cease proctoring on February 1, 2014.
One of the major contributors to that decision was when we learned that Washington State University had removed us from their list of approved proctoring sites. They are a significant e-learning presence in our state and the bulk of our proctoring was for this institution. I'm sure that you're aware that institutional requirements vary dramatically. We've found that more colleges and universities are requiring proctoring service that is more complex and asks for our librarian staff to observe the test taker at all times, take custody of electronic devices, and ensure that the test is not compromised in any way. Finally, proper chain of custody of exams requires extensive procedures and administrative time. We just cannot support this with our existing staff.
