What We're Listening To

Wildewoman CD Wildewoman
Rolling Stone says "Sixties girl-group sounds inform lots of indie rock these days. But it rarely sounds as fresh or thrilling as Brooklyn’s Lucius."

Fun stuff!

Lucius (Musical group)
CD MA LUCIUS

Same trailer, different park CD Same trailer, different park
Musgraves showed an intelligent, careful writing style that is as pointed as it is poignant, and even though the song seems to skewer small-town country life, it does it without malice or agenda, and is really more just telling it true than anything else, a trait that ought to be treasured in Nashville but usually isn't. Musgraves has a sense of humor, too, and all of these traits add up to make Same Trailer Different Park more than a collection of songs just aiming for the country charts.

Suggested by Dawn

Musgraves, Kacey.
CD U MUS8029

Gorilla Manor CD Gorilla Manor
Local Natives fill their debut album with soaring harmonies, dreamy orchestral melodies, and throbbing tribal beats, creating a unique indie rock sound that is all their own.

Sigur Ros (Musical group)
CD MA SIGUR R

Antidotes CD Antidotes
Although Oxford, England's Foals didn't release their debut full-length, Antidotes, until the spring of 2008, they had already begun to make quite a name for themselves, thanks to the British singles "Hummer" and "Mathletics," and successful dates in the U.S. the preceding fall; meaning, of course, that the anticipation for the record had plenty of time to grow. Fortunately, Antidotes is able to live up to the hype.

Foals (Musical group)
CD MA FOA775
